Andre Rieu, the ‘King of Waltz’, has shared a heartfelt message to Nevill Holt Festival patrons, ahead of this year’s programme opening on May 30th.

‘Hello music lovers! All my life I’ve believed in the power of music to inspire and unite people of all ages and cultures. And it is increasingly being proved scientifically to help in the healing process and with people’s mental well-being. So it seems that now, perhaps more than ever, we all need a little music in our lives. And where better to start than in schools!

I started playing the violin when I was 5 years old and I strongly believe music is the most precious treasure we have in life, music will always be with you and music will help you in difficult moments, I am sure of that. And by giving every child the opportunity to play an instrument, I believe the world would be a better place. That is why I am so happy and proud to offer my support to this year’s Nevill Holt Festival. I wish you all the best and, of course, I wish you all, in your life, a lot of music.‘
