Angela Harding

In this special festival talk, we will be taken on a journey through the creative world and work of wildlife printmaker and illustrator Angela Harding. From windswept coastlines to the quiet drama of garden birds and migrating seabirds.

Angela has worked with many major publishers and has illustrated both her own books and those of numerous other authors. She is especially well known for her striking book covers, including English Pastoral by James Rebanks and Wild Isles by Patrick Barkham. Her radio appearances include Desert Island Discs with Lauren Laverne, This Natural Life with Martha Kearney, and The Shed podcast hosted by Simon Armitage.

Angela Harding

In 2025, Angela published a series of four seasonal books featuring prints previously published elsewhere: Spring Unfurled, Summer’s Hum, Falling Into Autumn, and Winter’s Song. Also in 2025, she collaborated with conservationist Isabella Tree on Wilding: How to Bring Back Nature, which won the Children’s Non-Fiction Prize at the British Book Awards. She also worked with Poet Laureate Simon Armitage on Blossomise, a Sunday Times bestseller.

In November 2026, Angela will exhibit more than 90 new works, including both prints and paintings, at Yorkshire Sculpture Park. Angela’s own books are published by Little, Brown Book Group and include A Year Unfolding: A Printmaker’s View (2021), Wild Light (2022), and Still Waters & Wild Waves (2024).
